El Cielo Azul

Hostal/B&B El Cielo Azul is quietly located in an small ally of the typical Andalucian ‘pueblo blanco’ Álora, at about 35km from Málaga, the airport and the Costa del Sol.

The stately authenic Spanish villa was build in the years 1800 and was the summer residence of a marquis from Málaga. In the early 1900’s the street was know as the ‘Calle Hotelitos’ where the bougeoisie from inland spent their free time in the small hotels and vacation homes, organising parties and activities

The house was renewed in 2018/2019 with conservation of the original elements such as the floors and doors.

All the 5 large guest rooms have comfortable beds, air conditioning/heating, coffee/tea machine and  modern private bathrooms.

The house has a salon with fire place and sitting space and a breakfast room. Outside  there is a beautiful patio with pool, sunbeds, outside bar and terrace, where also the breakfast can be taken in the summer. On the first floor you find another guests terrrace.

There is a small private car park next to the house and plenty of parking space in the street before.

The Guadalhorce river flows just around the corner. The landscape of the ‘Valle del Sol’ (Sun Valley) is surrounded by mountains and planted with orange- and lemon trees and olive trees. You can make long walks along the river bank between the plantations.

You can reach the  lively city centre of Álora with its many bars, restaurant and shops after a a steep walk of 15 minutes or 5 minutes by car. At the other side there is ‘Barriada El Puente’ another district, 10 minutes walk or 2 minutes by car, with more bars and restaurants.

Álora’s small trainstation is at 1 minute walk.The train runs directly to all Málaga stations and with a short stopover to the airport and the Costa del Sol.

Distance to the airport Málaga city and the beach (Torremolinos) is about 45 km.
Antequera, el Torcal natural park, Ronda, Marbella and Puerto Banús are at about 1 hour drive.
Sevilla, Córdoba and Granada are at 1,5 to 2 hours drive.
The famous Caminito del Rey walkpath is at 35 minutes from here.
